Featured UAP Pasig Member of the Month for March 2025 Ar. Mary Rolyn Ara Torrecampo-Angeles, UAP Principal Architect, Arki Ara Design Ar. Mary Rolyn Ara Torrecampo-Angeles is a Registered Licensed Architect and a member of the UAP Pasig Chapter since 2015. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and has also undertaken units in Interior Design at the same institution. She is pursuing her Master’s in Environmental Planning at Philippine Christian University. Her dedication to completing her degree in Architecture has been recognized through various awards: • Top 6 Architectural Thesis for the Redevelopment of the Center for Community Transformation (Batch 2014)• Ar. Ara Angeles began her apprenticeship with A.S. Elgario Construction where the construction company did various collaborations with renowned architects such as Ar. Ramon Antonio and Ar. Ed Calma, where she worked on high-end residential projects in Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village in Makati, . She further honed her skills when she was chosen to be a part of a mentorship program at Budji Layug + Royal Pineda Architecture & Design Firm, gaining exposure to architectural design, interior design, and material specifications. After passing the Board Exam, she worked in a corporate setting, beginning her career with IPM Realty and Development, where she focused on affordable housing and mid to high-end projects. Subsequently, she served as a Planning & Design Specialist for Mang Inasal Philippines under Jollibee Foods Corporation, where she gained experience in retail and commercial design. This role helped her develop leadership skills and a strong background in marketing and branding, which are crucial in a fast-paced industry. After four years with JFC Group, she was appointed Project Manager/In-House Architect at Chatime Philippines. Her diverse experiences encompass architectural design, residential design (high-end, mid-range, and budget-friendly), architectural interiors, materials and specifications, retail and restaurant design, food safety, realty and development, construction, project management, and construction quality audit. In April 2019, Ar. Torrecampo-Angeles took a significant leap of faith by establishing her private practice, Arki Ara Design. She also began vlogging on YouTube (YT Channel: ARKI ARA DESIGN) and created a Facebook page to raise awareness and promote the architectural profession in the Philippines, sharing insights about its significance. Additionally, she is committed to mentoring future architects, guiding them in grasping the subtleties of this esteemed profession. Her involvement in civil society initiatives has enhanced the visibility of architects in the local government and the community. Her contributions include: • Member of the City Development Council• Elected Sectoral Chairman for Housing in the City Development Council• Member of the P4 Steering Committee for the construction of the New Pasig City Hall• Member of the Technical Working Group for updating the zoning ordinance of the Pasig LGU• Fellow of the Pasig City CSO Academy, Batch 2 Ar. Ara’s engagement with grassroots communities via civil society organizations has fostered partnerships and collaborations among persons with disabilities. This collaboration has aided the sector in implementing BP344, and UAP Pasig successfully conducted various accessibility audits within Pasig. During her second term as Chapter President, she also served as a District Secretary under Past District Director Ar. Francis Lloyd Baclit for FY 2023-2024. By the end of her second term, the UAP Pasig Chapter was recognized as the Most Outstanding UAP Chapter in Group 1. Featured UAP Pasig Member of the Month for February 2025 Ar. Ariel O. Daguman, UAP Avescon Development Corp. Exposed at an early age, Ar. Ariel O. Daguman, UAP, worked as a designer and field supervisor in Coordinated Group Inc. During his early career, this served as the backbone of his training through the guidance of their president, Engr. Roberto J. David, PRC Commissioner, Ar. Yolanda David Reyes, FUAP, APEC Architects, ASEAN Architects, Hon FAIA, LIKHA. His ability to handle design problems, construction processes as well as regular supervision was elevated through his experienced as a project-in-charge of a 6-storey residential project in Moriones, Tondo. In 1998, he became a Job-captain in the Design and Production of working drawings in DENR-NRDC for numerous public infrastructure from public markets to wildlife centers, under the supervision of Ar. Canchela and Ar. Evangelista. Notable projects he contributed significantly from schematic design to construction phase, as the principal architect and construction manager, are CCFA School Campus in Calbayog City, North Hill Hotel and Spa in Northern Samar, 9-storey UST Beato Angelico Project, Letran Balanga School in Bataan, Letran Intramuros School, and the 4 branches of Eves Residences in Rizal and Marikina. Ar. Daguman has been deeply involved in the creation of various projects, including residential structures, commercial buildings, high-rise buildings, health facilities, and public infrastructures. He successfully combined design and construction to bring these projects to life. Avoiding formal preconceptions, he seeks to find coherence between functional requirements of the client and technique of construction together with the intangible qualities, which animate a work of architecture that always consider factors such as dreams and inspiration of the clients. In 2009, Ar. Daguman started his own office in Manila, and since then, his professional journey has been defined by a deep love for service and to promote his experience in designing and also in construction. He believes knowing from different experiences gives a designer a palette to create his own masterpiece. Featured UAP Pasig Member of the Month for January 2025 Ar. Joelle Elicarr G. Jimenez, UAP BIM Architect Ar. Joelle Elicarr G. Jimenez, UAP, developed an interest in building houses at a young age, influenced by her parents’ careers as civil and sanitary engineers. Her passion for the arts led her to win art competitions throughout her elementary and high school years. During college, she gained practical experience working as an apprentice under her professors. After graduating in 2012, Ar. Jimenez began her professional career as an apprentice at WTA Design Studio, where she contributed to projects ranging from clinics to commercial buildings. In 2013, she joined Duotal as a BIM Architect, focusing on a large-scale commercial/resort project with two 15-storey towers. Her responsibilities included developing architectural, structural, and MEPF plans. Ar. Jimenez’s career continued to progress in 2014 when she joined Ridley as a BIM/Architect. She gained experience in a variety of projects, including residential structures, commercial buildings, high-rise buildings, health facilities, and transportation infrastructure. In 2016, she joined Viatechnik as a Senior BIM Architect, expanding her expertise to include point cloud projects, architectural and structural building models, and interior projects. Most recently, in 2025, Ar. Jimenez joined Emapta, working for RIM Architects on federal projects, residential buildings, and commercial buildings.
