Cultural Heritage Preservation Workshop: Protecting Pasig’s Identity International policy documents often describe the environment as a combination of “natural heritage” and “cultural heritage,” reflecting the interconnectedness of human-environment interactions. Concepts such as “biosphere” and “ecosystem,” introduced in recent years, highlight this complexity. In line with these principles, the Cultural Heritage Preservation Workshop emphasized the vital role of preserving both natural and cultural heritage as integral to Pasig City’s identity.   Organized by the United Architects of the Philippines – Pasig Chapter, the workshop took place from September 18 to 20. It sought to enhance awareness and advocate for the conservation of Pasig’s historic structures, which are essential to the city’s cultural and historical legacy. Deep appreciation is extended to the city’s stakeholders for their active participation, as well as to the esteemed speakers who generously shared their knowledge and insights:   Arjay C. Gumasing from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Official); Aljon I. Concillado from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines; Carmen Bettina Silao-Bulaong and Ar. Jeffrey D. Cobilla from Escuela Taller de Filipinas Foundation, Inc.; and Ar. Nina Reanne Gomez Maiquez from the United Architects of the Philippines.   The three-day workshop, which featured a heritage tour, marked a significant stride in promoting effective cultural heritage preservation. By fostering collaboration and sharing expertise, the event strengthened the collective commitment to protecting Pasig’s heritage and ensuring its legacy endures for future generations.   You May Also Like… Cultural Heritage Preservation Workshop: Protecting Pasig’s Identity LGU ENGAGEMENTS Capacity Building on Appropriate Implementation of the Updated Zoning Ordinance of Pasig City CPD-SEMINARS 5th GMM (F.Y. 2024-2025): “ARCHIPRENEUR” GMM – GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
